PARIS SESSIONS are about to start!

Hi KONTRAAKT followers.

In a few days, we will start our new series of broadcasts.
Our Paris sessions are realized in collaboration with Volumes Paris and KÖK Projekt

This time KONTRAAKT moves in VOLUMES PARIS Co-working & FoodLab.
Volumes Paris is an inspiring space that includes maker space, co-working, and food-lab.

KÖK Projekt is a social innovation network focused on food innovation.



The characters of our collaborators defined the content of our Paris Sessions too.
This time we'll have Food Innovation - Seed Freedom - Food Democracy as main themes.
These sessions of six weeks broadcasts will include LOCAL SESSIONS, WEEKLY TALKS, and CREATIVE COMMUNITY MEETINGS.
During the series of broadcasts, Cenk will be based in Paris and moderate the sessions.

As you know, KONTRAAKT sessions are open to your live contribution too.

KONTRAAKT'TAN SEVGİLERLE

Uzun bir aradan sonra KONTRAAKT yeniden eylemlerine başladı, gerçekten KONTRAAKT nerede? Kendi mitolojisinin içinde uhrevileşen mimar Zumthor'u İstanbul'a getiren KONTRAAKT, hem kendisini sevenleriyle buluşturdu, hem de özlem gidermek isteyenler için bir mecra oluşturdu.

Studio-X deki "Mimarın Soluğu" adlı etkinlikte İhsan Bilgin'in Zumthor üzerine kaleme aldığı son kitabı Nevzat Sayın, Tansel Korkmaz ve İhsan Bilgin eşliğinde konuşuldu. Konuklar arasında Zumthor da vardı.

KONTRAAKT aşağıdaki not ile beraber Zumthor'u mekana ulaştırdı.

The conversation will revolve around the intersection of art/design/hiphop and civic/community engagement. In what ways does hiphop play a role in shaping the practices of our guests? Their working methods, the topics they explore or are engaged in, their connection to their community? How does hıphop shape the art sphere and how does the art sphere shape hıphop culture back? What is the future of hiphop as it moves into other spheres, such as social/civic innovation, or contemporary art?

Topics: We approach different aspects of setting up workshops or interdisciplinary meetings: Creating methods of inviting and hosting the event / How to work with group dynamics? / How to balance aspects of giving and taking in a participatory process? What can be explored throughout the different runs of a series? How to document / evaluate these processes? How to balance between following a format and allowing the project to evolve through experiment?

Organising Discourse is an independent postgraduate course at Konstfack in Stockholm, exploring and developing platforms for discourse within the crafts, design and architecture. It aims to support and invigorate the development of new conceptual and physical spaces for presentation and display, meetings, discussions and debate, research and modes of production, etc. Within the crafts, design and architecture, it focuses on experimental, investigative and critical practices.

KONTRAAKT - STHLM

Hi, everybody!
It was a quite silent period for us.
But we got on air again, as soon as we found a chance!

Cenk is in Stockholm in an artist in residency program called IASPIS.
We took this an opportunity to create some collaborations.
First one is with the course called Organising Discourse, run by Magnus Ericson in Konstfack.

As KONTRAAKT we created a workshop which has two stages.

For the first stage, we presented the participants of the course our contribution to the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial and discussed with them possible opportunities of social media tools as platforms to broadcast. And we made experiments on Internet Meme's by using Instagram video format as a starting point.

For the second stage, we asked the participants of the course to curate an online broadcast. Either they may invite people to the studio or include them to the conversation online. This was also an experiment for us because this time we tried another setting to broadcast. Rather than using a single camera, multiple microphones and a soundcard as we've done during the design biennial, this time we used basic tools. Multiple devices were online this time to provide multiple camera angles. Even though we tried to use a proper microphone to get better sound, we did not succeed and had to use the mics of computers.

At the end of the day, we had one studio discussion, one multi-country broadcast and one intercontinental broadcast.

KONTRAAKT - Haftasonu Seansı - Weekend Session - Ecosistema Urbano

Gerceklestirdikleri deneysel surecler ve ekoloji ile teknolojiyi birlestirdikleri kamusal alan projeleri ile mimarlik dunyasinin ilgisini ceken Ecosistema Urbano'nun kurucuları Jose Luis Vallejo ve Belinda Tato ile tasarim egitiminin gelecegini tartistik.

We discussed the future of design education with Jose Luis Vallejo and Belinda Tato, founders of Ecosistema Urbano whose experimental processes and public projects in which they infused ecology and technology create a lot of attention in the architecture world.
