KONTRAAKT - STHLM

Hi, everybody!
It was a quite silent period for us.
But we got on air again, as soon as we found a chance!

Cenk is in Stockholm in an artist in residency program called IASPIS.
We took this an opportunity to create some collaborations.
First one is with the course called Organising Discourse, run by Magnus Ericson in Konstfack.

As KONTRAAKT we created a workshop which has two stages.

For the first stage, we presented the participants of the course our contribution to the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennial and discussed with them possible opportunities of social media tools as platforms to broadcast. And we made experiments on Internet Meme's by using Instagram video format as a starting point.

For the second stage, we asked the participants of the course to curate an online broadcast. Either they may invite people to the studio or include them to the conversation online. This was also an experiment for us because this time we tried another setting to broadcast. Rather than using a single camera, multiple microphones and a soundcard as we've done during the design biennial, this time we used basic tools. Multiple devices were online this time to provide multiple camera angles. Even though we tried to use a proper microphone to get better sound, we did not succeed and had to use the mics of computers.

At the end of the day, we had one studio discussion, one multi-country broadcast and one intercontinental broadcast.

KONTRAAKT Haftasonu Seansı - Crafted in Istanbul

Haftasonu Seansı'nda Tasarım Bienali'nde işleri bulunan Crafted in Istanbul ekibi, Seda Erdural, Barış Gümüştaş, Bilal Yılmaz konuğumuz oldu. Önce, Crafted in Istanbul projesinin nasıl başlayıp evrildiğini konuşarak başladık; zanaat / tasarım, tasarım eğitimi, üretim, tüketim, karşılaşmalar ekseninde devam ettik.

Yesterday, 2th Istanbul Design Biennial got opened with a great interest from first day visitors.
Kontraakt has just started its broadcast with tweet feeds, live broadcasts on Google Hangout and UStream.

The links for live broadcast on Hangout will allow you also be a part of the discussions by directly connecting you with a chat window during the broadcast

2- Check out updates on kontraakt.com. Here you will find podcasts, former video shows and additional informations on Workshops and other Kontraakt events details.

3- Tweet with hashtag #kontrashow and share an image of your design and instantly without any moderation find be a part of the biennial through the KONTRASHOW display in Kontraakt Room @Greek School.

HEY!igi - Imaginary Guidelines for Istanbul

Studio X Istanbul'dan ilk canlı yayınımızı gerçekleştirdik.

İstanbul dair deneysel katılımcı metodlar üzerine kart oyunu, web sitesi ve buluşmalar bütünü olan HEY!igi, katıldığımız bu etkinlikte resmen duyuruldu. Kontraakt proje paydaşları ile röportajlar yapıp, canlı yayınla anı kayıt altına almak için oradaydı.

Bu yayınlar hem benim için hem de Kontraakt için deneyler niteliğindeler ve Kontraakt'ın yaratmaya çalıştığı, alternatif medya araçlarını kullanan, çoğulcu yönetim odaklı, tartışmalar yaratmak için provokatif, kanıksanmış tasarımcı ve piyasa pozisyonlarını bozmak için sarsıcı ve bağımsız bir iletişim aracını yaratmak için zamanla içerik olarak dönüşüp, teknik açıdan da gelişecekler.


We made the first live broadcasting online, in Studio X Istanbul.
HEY! Imaginable Guidelines Istanbul founded by ŞANALarc.  HEY! IGI is an open platform via card games / web site and meetings on experimental participatory city design methods about Istanbul; has officially announced in that event and Kontraakt was there to make some interviews with the stakeholders of the project and broadcast live and document the moment.

This broadcasts are also experiments for Kontraakt that will evolve in content and improve technically in time with the vision to create an independent communication tool that is provocative to create discussions, pluralist in moderation, destructive to engaged designer and market positions by using alternative media tools.
